Introduction: Care is needed when sailing by Cape Lefkimmi because shallows (one meter depth) extend out a considerable distance north and slightly northeast of the cape.
Lefkimmi's river is navigable by craft drawing up to one meter as far as the village where shops and taverns are to be found.

GPS: Lat: 39° 25' 24N,     Long: 20° 4' 8E

Approach: Lefkimmi harbour is about 3 miles south of Cape Lefkimmi. By day when sailing past one can see the boulders of the breakwater extending about 250 meters from the shore; by night care is needed so as to distinguish the two beacons at the entrance from the lights of the coast.

Mooring: Within the harbour, depths of four meters and up. Good protection from most weather. In southerlies and northeasterlies, a swell gets in the harbour.

Further information: The harbour is new and thus provides no facilities. A small building is planned for the convenience of passengers using the ferry-boat from there to Igoumenitsa. However if one is heading north to Corfu it is sometimes helpful to wait in the harbour until the Maistros dies down in the evening so as to avoid the trouble of beating against it.
