Introduction: The northernmost harbour on Corfu's west coast is Ayios Stefanos.

GPS: No Info

Approach: This harbour is on the northern side and slightly to the east of Cape Kavokefali which is the westernmost tip of Corfu. When approaching from the North or sailing along the coast, one is guided by the lights of the houses and restaurants on the shore. The harbour is farther west than the lights. Care is needed when approaching from the South since the cape is not lit and a shoal extends about 50 meters out from it.

Mooring: The harbour provides shelter in all weather and the sandy bottom good holding. Depths in the basin are about 2.5 meters or more. Unfortunately the entrance to the harbour silts up rather rapidly and thus, if it has not been dredged recently, limits the entrance of craft drawing more than 1.2 to 1.4 meters; approach must be conducted with care. Silting up is more marked on the breakwater's side so craft must keep to the middle of the passage. The jetty is usually full of local boats, except for one spot reserved for the caiques connecting the harbour with the Diapontia islands. One can tie up bows-to behind the breakwater.

Further information: The harbour does not provide fuel or water. The nearby sandy beach (about 600 meters away) of Ayios Stefanos is one of the most beautiful in Corfu and is considerably developed, with restaurants, bars, cafeterias, and shops.
